CJA 11-202. Judges pro tempore. Amend. Requires 5 years minimum experience to serve as a small claims judge pro tempore. Requires initial and continuing education in small claims cases. Expands background check. Permits the Supreme Court to appoint a justice court judge or a court commissioner as a judge pro tempore for up to 5 days. Proposed Effective Date: November 1, 2007.

CJA 04-202.08 Fees for records, information, and services. Amend. Reduces to cost per Xchange search after 200 searches from $.20 to $.10. Effective August 1, 2006. Approved as an expedited amendment under Rule 2-205. Subject to further change after the comment period.
CJA 04-403. Signature stamp use. Amend. Permits a clerk to use the judge’s signature stamp to approve an order accepting a plea in abeyance if no appearance is required by the Uniform Fine and Bail Schedule.
CJA 04-510. Alternative dispute resolution. Amend. The amendments will modify the training and experience necessary to qualify for the Utah State Roster of ADR Providers and to serve as a provider in divorce mediation. The amendments will provide for sanctions other than removal from the roster. The Uniform Mediation Act is added to the required reading for qualified training programs.
CJA 04-704. Authority of court clerks to extend payment schedule and dismiss citations. Amend. Changes from 14 days to 20 the time in which a clerk may dismiss charges for an automotive mechanical deficiency after the deficiency has been corrected.

CJA 03-406. Budget and fiscal management. Amend. Permit greater discretion in defining budget programs.
CJA 03-414. Court security. Amend. Permit private security agents transporting money to be armed. Approved effective April 24, 2006 as an expedited amendment under Rule 2-205. Subject to further change after the comment period.
CJA 04-404. Jury selection and service. Amend. Differentiates between excuse from jury service and postponement. Modifies the qualification process to enable qualifying on the web. Eliminates demographic information from the qualification questions. Deletes requirement that an excused juror be called in the next term.
CJA 06-303. Collection of fines and restitution. Amend. Corrects references from Office of Recovery Services and Department of Corrections to Office of State Debt Collection.
CJA Appx F. Record Retention Schedule. Amend. Retain search warrants not associated with a case for five years.

CJA 04-202.08. Fees for records, information, and services. Amend. Establishes the fee for delivery of documents by outgoing fax.
CJA 07-301. Intake. Amend. Delete erroneous reference to non-judicial adjustment as including a surcharge.
CJA 11-302. Admission pro hac vice. Amend. Exempts from the fee for admission pro hac vice attorneys representing the U.S. government and those representing indigent defendants on a pro bono basis.
CJA 11-304. Pro bono admission for law school faculty lawyers. New. Permits law school faculty member to perform pro bono legal services within this state. Establishes qualifications and procedures.

CJA 07-304. Probation supervision. Amend. Adopts the probation risk assessment and restorative justice models for supervision of juveniles.

CJA 11-201. Senior judges. Amend. Permits senior judges to be active senior judges with an annual evaluation. Establishes a uniform reappointment date.
CJA 11-203. Senior justice court judges. Amend. Permits senior judges to be active senior judges with an annual evaluation. Establishes a uniform reappointment date.
CJA Appendix F. Records retention schedule Amend. Reduces retention period for civil judgments of money only. Treats alcohol related convictions the same as DUI conviction. Technical amendments.

CJA 03-408.Inventory. Amend. Changes minimum value for mandatory inventory control from $500 to $1,000.
CJA 03-411. Grant management. Amend. Adds approval by the legislature for large federal grants.
CJA 03-413. Judicial library resources. Amend. Eliminate mandatory subscription to Utah Advance Reports, an equivalent email notification service being offered by the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals.
CJA 09-105. Justice Court hours Amend. Establishes 5-day operation as the standard for justice courts. Permits waiver by the Judicial Council
CJA 10-1-203. Designation of video arraignment areas as courtroom. Amend. Update references to video arraignment courtrooms in Second District Court.
