Rules of Evidence – Effective May 1, 2026

URE404. Character evidence; crimes or other acts. Amend. The amendments coordinate a prior but not yet effective amendment of the rule—which adds a new advisory committee note—with the Legislature’s recent substantive amendments to the rule, which are unchanged. The amendments include technical edits to correct a typographical error in the rule’s text, the year of the new committee note, and references to Rules 402 and 403 in a separate committee note.
