Judge Katherine Peters was appointed to the Salt Lake City Justice Court in 2019. She earned a law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2001. After a brief period at a prominent civil litigation firm with a focus on property-tax litigation, Judge Peters served as a Deputy District Attorney for Salt Lake County for seventeen years. As a Deputy District Attorney, Judge Peters competently and diligently managed a wide variety of cases, ranging from misdemeanor offenses to violent felonies, homicide, and sexual offenses, including numerous high-profile cases. Judge Peters has worked in both adult and juvenile court settings. Judge Peters currently serves on the JPEC Juror Survey Subcommittee and previously served on the Self-Represented Parties Committee. 6/22
