AMEND.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed amendments:<br \/>\n(1) add community representatives who are knowledgable about the needs of self-represented<br \/>\nlitigants to the Court Facility Planning Committee, Committee on Children and Family<br \/>\nLaw, Committee on Resources for Self-represented Parties, Language Access Committee,<br \/>\nCommittee on Court Forms, and Committee on Fairness and Accountability;<br \/>\n(2) require the chair of each standing committee to conduct a committee performance<br \/>\nassessment every three years and report the results to the Management Committee; and<br \/>\n(3) make non-substantive formatting changes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/legacy.utcourts.gov\/utc\/rules-comment\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/31\/2025\/02\/3-306.04.pdf\">CJA03-306.04.<\/a><strong>Interpreter appointment, payment, and fines.<\/strong> AMEND.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed amendments:<br \/>\n(1) require parties to provide a written transcript of recorded evidence involving a spoken<br \/>\nlanguage other than English;<br \/>\n(2) with limited exceptions, prohibit parties from asking court interpreters to provide on-the-<br \/>\nspot translations of written documents or on-the-spot interpretation of recorded evidence;<br \/>\n(3) direct interpreters to review audio and video files recorded in English prior to a court<br \/>\nproceeding;<br \/>\n(4) require court interpreters to inform the court if they are unable to provide on-the-spot<br \/>\ninterpretation or translations; and<br \/>\n(5) make non-substantive formatting changes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CJA01-205.Standing and ad hoc committees.
