Clarifies the warning judges must give to defendants in domestic violence cases.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/legacy.utcourts.gov\/utc\/rules-approved\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/11\/URCrP-18-6-29-16-legislative-format.pdf\">URCrP018<\/a>\u00a0Amend. The proposed amendment replaces the current language on alternate jurors. \u00a0The language is borrowed from the federal rules. \u00a0The primary motivation behind the change is to eliminate the requirement that alternate jurors be discharged when the jury retires to deliberate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/legacy.utcourts.gov\/utc\/rules-approved\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/11\/URCrP-22-10-31-16-legislative-format.pdf\">URCrP022<\/a>\u00a0Amend. The proposed changes to the rule will set out in more detail the circumstances under which a court may correct a sentence.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/legacy.utcourts.gov\/utc\/rules-approved\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/11\/038-1-11-17-legislative-format-adding-back-in-section-c.pdf\">URCrP038<\/a> Amend. \u00a0The proposed amendment clarifies that a defendant may withdraw an appeal prior to entry of a plea of guilt or prior to commencement of trial.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/legacy.utcourts.gov\/utc\/rules-approved\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2016\/11\/order-URCrP-11-22-18-38-11-23-16.pdf\">Supreme Court Order<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>URCrP011\u00a0Amend.
