Participants in proceedings conducted under this article are entitled to the same protections for statements made in the course of the proceedings as participants in judicial proceedings. Except as provided in Utah Rules of Civil Procedure 65A and 65B, the district courts, Committee members, special counsel appointed pursuant to Rule 11-542, supervising attorneys engaged in pro bono assistance, trustees appointed pursuant to Rule 11-538, and OPC Counsel and staff will be immune from suit, for any conduct committed in the course of their official duties, including the investigatory stage. There is no immunity from civil suit for intentional misconduct.
