| Why Capacity Index is Important |
Capacity Index measures pending cases against a courts capacity to dispose of cases in a given time period. On average, criminal cases should be disposed more quickly than a major civil case, so courts should maintain a lower capacity index for criminal cases than for civil cases. *Steelman
Capacity Index is calculated by dividing the number of pending cases by the number of cases disposed in a 12 month period. |
